Today was a crazy day. I did many things. The first thing I did
was going to a graveyard, and see the grave of my father’s grandparents. I
never met them. I guess I knew they existed, but I've never thought of them...
I spent most of the time looking for cool names. I noticed there was a lot with
the last name of Rasmussen. That was scary. I also found the oldest grave was
from 1877, and they newest from 9 days ago. I then went into the church (all
church's in Denmark have a graveyard). After the Church, we drove to a place
called Knutenborg Park. This is a zoo. Only thing, there aren't any fences.
Well, I guess there are fences. They separate different areas. The animals are
not confined from the visitor, other than the visitor’s cars. This is really
fun, because it means giraffes can cross right in front of your car on the
road. This was cool, until the rhinos (which are as big as our car) walked near
us. That was kind of scary. Another thing we say in the park was Arctic Wolves.
They were not very active, but there was a really cute cub just like 4 meters
from our car. We went to a place where we weren't allowed to be in our car
anymore, but had to ride a special train, because the monkeys in the enclosure
would tear our car apart. From the bus we could feed the monkeys as we drove
through. This was fun. Later, we went into a lemur enclosure. This place we
could walk, and was really cool because the lemur was right there. Later we
drove passed into a tiger enclosure. This was the coolest of all. The tigers
are so big, and they walked right on the road. It was very cool. I really thought
they were interesting, and a lot of fun to look at. On the way out, we say the
namesake of the park. The name came from a castle, which once stood, on the
park grounds. This castle was called Knutenborg Slot (slot is the Danish word
for castle)
After this, we left the island of Lolland, and drove to another
island called Fyn. This required going on a ferryboat, and over two
bridges. I now stay in Fyn for 3 nights, and then move on.
